There is a Chinese saying, “Wealth never survives three generations”.
Now run by the fourth generation, Richard Eu, the Group CEO of Eu Yan Sang, has not only kept the wealth within the family-owned business, he has also modernised the 130-year-old medical company.
Meet the man himself - Richard Eu - as he shares his journey on the “Path of the Righteous Crane”: from adopting a scientific approach to quality control, developing an extensive distribution network to new packaging and marketing for its products.

An exhibition on the life of Eu Tong Sen (1877 - 1941), a name is synonymous to Eu Yan Sang, will be held in conjunction with this talk. Eu Tong Sen was a prominent community leader with a street named after him in Singapore. Nicknamed the “King of Tin”, he was not only a leading businessman in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, but also a notable philanthropist who had made uncountable contributions to several causes. The various facets of his life are shared in this exhibition. Interesting visuals and documents that are publicly shown for the first time, give an insight to his childhood, the determination of a young businessman who became one of the wealthiest person in the region, his contributions to the community, his unwavering belief in the care for mankind, and his passions in life.
