You may have heard of Ding Ding Candy and Dragon Beard Candy - popular desserts of yesteryears. But have you heard of Putu Bola?

Celebrate this National Day at Ananda Bhavan, Singapore’s oldest and most established Indian vegetarian restaurant, with sweet memories of the Putu Bola dessert, a favourite Singaporean dessert of the 1970’s that was thought to have been lost over time. Made with rice flour and grated coconut, the soft and fluffy dessert shaped like a ball was invented by the iconic Putu Mayam sellers who migrated to Singapore from India.

Brought back to life especially for the National Day period, the dessert is bound to invoke memories of carefree childhood days gone by. The younger generation of today can also get a chance to experience a part of history by indulging in the nostalgic dessert.

Longing for this childhood food, really hardly find it unlike Putu Mayam now-a-days
